More work, less spark!

Diagnosis: compression A-OK, spark minimal. While I was at work in a bookstore experiencing the greenhouse effect, chris picked up some fuel line and a fuel filter for me. He got quite the discount, and we threw the parts on.
We did something that required me to put the moped on two 2x4's (to makeup for the crappy center stand) and pedal like mad, but I forget what we were doing.
Chris checked compression via the jam-a-finger-in-the-sparkplug-hole method, and it passed inspection.
However, the spark tester didn't register a spark at all, and the spark on the plug is there but weak.
We tested the coil and it is good, but there is almost no voltage to the coil. Bad magneto or stater plate parts. More work. More money.
We wanted to check these parts out, but the lame engineers at Motobecane decided that you have to remove the clutch to get at the ignition, and you have to have a special tool to remove the clutch. I found this part at the moped junkyard and ordered it, I hope they have one in ("limited quantities").
I visited Rachel after we reached the tool obstacle and discussed fabricating the tool. Rachel and I had sundaes at DQ, where it was about 2 degrees Kelvin inside. Rachel wanted to eat inside because outside, bugs get in her coot. Actually, she said food, but that's not what I heard. After I thawed out, we watched recorded TV and exhchanged back rubs.
In better news, I came home and discovered that for 18 dollars, Thor from Moped Army can reproduce and ship the Cady owner's manual and repair guide to me. Score!
