hi. i have chosen to seize a moment when the internet is working and to write a real entry here. before jumping into things, i will discuss the internet real quick. for some reason, in hoyt hall only, the internet is working 15% of the time max. this is lame. there is an unlabled door across the hall from me which houses the ethernet for the entire building. for some reason it is unlocked. i took the liberty to bring my powerbook in there and plug various connections into it, but none worked. things are getting so bad that i may soon start bringing my 12" bundle of joy to the library so that i can use the internet there.while on the topic of things that can be a pain in the ass, let's talk about work. i have been working a lot. the sad part is that i actually enjoy my job. it's easy, i get paid well and i there are lots of people to see and talk to. it prevents boredom, and spending money as well. i'm just a cashier, but as far as cashiers go, i am pretty damn sweet because as far as i know i am the only new hire who has been asked to stay there after the book rush. i'm worried that i may get promoted though. i don't really want responsibilities other than making sure people hand me money before walking out with their textbooks.
textbooks are something we need for school, so i will talk about that now. school is pretty damn good. most of my classes aren't really academic classes, so there isn't much homework. my professors for the "real" classes are pretty sweet so life is pretty good right now. there are lots of cool kids and cute girls in my interpersonal communication class, and everyone in there is super nice.
as far as free time goes, i have been doing laundry, drinking beer, and going to bed early. i am looking forward to going on some damn dates soon though, and i know just who should go on them with me, so let's see what happens.
