FRIDAY LAB BLOWOUT!
2003-12-12 9:07 a.m.

oh, hello. i bet you're surprised to see me this early on a friday morning. it is the earliest i have been up on a friday all year. final exams start today, and my graphic design exam period was scheduled from 9:30 to 11. only the exam is optional and instead of an exam, it's a one page paper that can be done at home. since it is lame and optional i am not doing it. the exam period was also for finishing up projects, which i need to do. however, i got myself up two and a half hours earlier than normal today only to get out of the shower and see that my professor rescheduled the "FRIDAY LAB BLOWOUT!!" from 11-3. that's what he called it in his email. so now i have to entertain myself and drink cofee until my econ exam at 11, after which i will go to the FRIDAY LAB BLOWOUT!

since it is the end of semester, life has been stressful as hell. lab related activities have been fucked up... java programs haven't been finished, studio portrait backgrounds turned out grey, and color slides were scratched. the stress was only added to the fact that these unfortunate events tend to coordinate themselves with the time that my coffee wears off. however, some stress was alleviated by my photo professor who likes mickey mouse, because he is less strict about studio prints than i had expected. even more stress was relieved by a computer science pal who helped me with three of the four labs that are due by midnight tomorrow. yes, tomorrow, even though it is saturday.

so that's all i have to say for now except that i'm not dropping out of school to study photography elsewhere anymore. instead i picked up an extra minor, fine arts photography here. this is a compromise and it probably means i will be here at least one more semester than originally planned. i guess i shouldn't complain about using the pursuit of photography to put off my entrance into the real world.
